The Louvre is a museum that is without compare in all the world. A feast for the eyes that is easy to navigate, with spectacular works at every turn. Simply the finest museum there is.
Well laid out. Easy access to all the works of art. I had not realised there was such a network of shops below street level. Brilliant.
I was overwhelmed by the day spent wandering along the aisles of Egyptian, Roman, British sculptures. The halls of art that told the stories of our history. To stand in front of the Mona Lisa and almost touch that enigmatic face was a chilling moment. The Louvre is something that draws people in to its heart and drenches them with history in all its forms. One day is certainly not enough time. An evening wandering around the outside permeter is another must do and a walk around the pyramid in both day and night is something not to be be missed
